NEW MCAA Opening Preparations (New NICU/MICC)

  • Review email sent by Emily Friday, 4/25 with full instructions/information. The move is planned for this Saturday, 5/3. Anticipate reporting to MCAA South for all shifts starting 5/5.

  • High Yield Reminders:

    • Plan to pick up badges this week (pending email from leadership)

    • You must have a working scrub card (contact Emily if this is not the case)


NEW Save the Date- EOY PD Meetings

  • Scheduling will be done in Google Calendar (just like the mid-year meetings)

  • Meetings will be held from June 2-June 30th

  • Resident Pre-PD Meeting Checklist:

[ ] Update your MedHub Resident Portfolio (Journal Club, SOCR/ARM activities, CPC, QI/PI projects, ILP; End of Training docs- PGY3s only).

  • Reminder to check your BLS expiration dates and sign-up early for recertification courses

  • Follow the steps below to sign up for a recertification class

    • Search “BLS”

    • Sign-up for either Blended (requires pre-work) or Challenge Course

      • Note courses fill fast. Sign up 1-2 months prior to BLS expiration

3rd Annual Peds Sweets & Treats - Monday, April 28

  • Please support this event hosted by the resiliency committee by bringing a baked good, a healthy treat, or something sweet to share with everyone. All food items must be individually wrapped

  • Donations will be accepted to raise funds for Pediatric Resiliency initiatives (eg. Gingerbread house contest, resident’s annual luncheon, pet photo contest, pumpkin contest, etc). Cash, Venmo, & CashApp will be accepted for donations.

  • Dr. Jessica Servey, the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at USU will be hosting two virtual info sessions for residents interested in USU academic appointments after graduation.

  • Sessions are most applicable to graduating residents, but any resident can join

USU Teaching Opportunities

Longitudinal Clinical Skills for MD/PhD students

  • Volunteers will help lead hour long case-based discussion to a small group of students in USU's combined MD/PhD program. These students have completed their pre-clerkship phase of medical school and are doing research for their PhD before moving on to clerkships. 

  • Upcoming sessions: Lumbar Puncture 5/8/25.  All sessions are from 0900-1000.
