Plan of the Week: April 28th - May 4th

Updated: May 2, 2024

Plays of the Week:

Play of the week to Dr. Connor Liggett and Dr. Anna Casey, who stepped up and led the resuscitation of a Code Purple. Connor was head of bed and Anna caught the baby, and both immediately recognized that baby required immediate resuscitation efforts. Each took turns giving CPAP and providing exemplary NRP. Anna performed a needle decompression on the infant, and both placed an emergent UVC. Their interventions and actions led to a great outcome for this patient. Great work team!

Play of the week to Dr. Marianna Caballero, who completed her requirements to receive credentialing for Moderate Sedation. She is the first resident to complete in over 2 years!

Play of the week to Dr. Sebstian Lara, who was named AOA Faculty Teacher of the Year from the Maryland Gamma Chapter of the AOA Honor Society at USU. Congratulation, sir! Well deserved!

Additional play of the week to everyone who presented their posters at the 4th Annual Military Child Health Research Symposium. Dr. Samantha Hanciles, Dr. Brandon Neal, Dr. Madeleine Mascitti, and Dr. Marianna Caballero all had posters; and Dr. Madison and Dr. Patterson gave excellent platform presentations. Overall, a great afternoon!

Announcements:

All Staff Updates

School Paperwork SOP:

In anticipation of school physical season, we have made some changes to help streamline the paperwork return process. In summary:

  • A mass message when out to families last week asking them to send in their various school forms through the portal prior to their appointment, and to list when their appointment is and with whom. If they don’t know, nurses will do their best to route the paperwork to whoever the patient is seeing. Thus, you may receive messages for patients you are seeing in the future.

  • Once you see them, you can send the paperwork back via the portal

  • If you get paperwork handed to you during the appointment, you may fill it out the during the appointment if you’re able, but families were informed you may need to send it back at a later time via the portal (or have them pick up at front desk if they are unable to use portal or some reason)

  • We will discourage paperwork being dropped off at the front desk, but will accept them if families are having trouble with the portal.

  • Turn around time is still 10 business days, although we do our best to get it back to them as quickly as we can
