Play of the week to Dr. Madeleine Mascitti and Dr. Brandon Neal who attended the MDAAP Advocacy Event. They interacted with members of state legislature and the APA. Great work getting involved in advocacy and representing NCC Peds!

Clerkship Round Robin (recurring throughout the year)

  • Tentative Dates and Times:

  • Designed to mimic a clinic half day, each faculty member will be in an MDL room with your particular case. The students have 30 minutes with you to go through the case/skills. The students will move. You stay put and will deliver the same content 5 times to groups of 9-10 students.

ARMY

Alpha Company (PGY2, PGY3) & HHC (PGY1) will be conducting a PAI (Personnel Asset Inventory) this week:

  • Building 9 (Arrowhead) 1st Floor, where the old flu drive/COVID screening center was 

  • Monday 2/5- Friday 2/9: 0900-1600 

  • Attendance is MANDATORY unless you are on APPROVED LEAVE or TDY. This includes offsite and night shift residents. 

  • Be prepared to spend at least 20 minutes; required items are ID tags and ID card. If you are missing your ID tags don’t worry, the point of this is to get them for you if you do not have them. 

  • If you have any certificates or paperwork that you wish to provide at that time you may do so, otherwise we will be scrubbing our list of delinquent mandatory training and informing you which training you must complete.

  • Current leave process

    • Please send email to Jack and Military Advisor notifying of specific leave requests

    • Please use IPPS-A for all leave/absence requests; go to https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil/identitymanagement/app/login and login with your CAC

    • Make sure you change your email in order to receive email notifications -> My Profile -> My Current Profile -> down arrow next to name -> Personal Details -> Contact Details

    • Submit leave

      • Submit Leave to your specific Military Advisor

      • Click My Absences in the home page

      • Complete the appropriate information, an example of chargeable leave is below:

      • Absence Type: 1-Chargeable Absence

      • Absence Name: Absence

      • Absence Reason: 01- Annual (Ordinary) Absence and complete the remainder of the page

      • Enter Start and End Dates

      • For supervisor ID: direct it to your ARMY ADVISOR

      • Complete address information with the location of where you are going

      • Click submit

    • Make sure you continue to send leave dates and locations to the Peds Leave Listserv: dha.bethesda.j-11.mbx.pediatric-alpha-co-leave@health.mil

Leave:

  • Please complete and sign the attached checklist when submitting leave.

  • Put Dr. Zanetti and Jack as 1st/2nd Approver, and email checklist to both.

  • For the checklist - When out of training these are items that will result in leave not being approved. I will NOT be rejecting leave, but if there are things overdue we need a plan to get updated. If you have a lot of overdue items and you are doing OCONUS or leave requiring commanders signature this could cause issues, but we’ll address that if it comes up.

  • Here’s how you should answer Checklist:

1 – in JKO ensure that your annual cyberawareness, Hippa, level 1 antiterrorism training are done

2- Check your IMR and ensure all green https://asimsimr.health.mil/imr/myIMR.aspx if not use comment box to write what is not up to date and plan

3 – TR closeouts are end of the academic year 30June

4 – N/A

BCA and PRTs:

Command is utilizing SignUpGenius to schedule BCAs and PRTs during designated dates for each Division. Click on the link to schedule your BCA as a participant once you have read NMRTCBETHESDANOTE 6110.:

The command-wide dates for the PFA and FEP for cycle 2024 are from 1 April 2024 through 24 May 2024, with makeup dates scheduled 28 May 2024 through 7 June 2024.


Additionally, I have attached a copy of the NAVMED 6110/4 (02/2021) PHYSICAL FITNESS ASSESSMENT MEDICAL CLEARANCE/WAIVER.





Leave:
