Plays of the Week:
This was a hard week to decide what photos to put near the top, it was a really exciting week for NCC Peds! It was Valentine's Day, so had to go with our Cardiology team.
Play of the week to Dr. Marianna Caballero, and her research mentor Dr. Hickey, and Dr. Taylor Meyers, and her research mentor Dr. Madison, who presented posters at the AMSUS Conference this past week.
Play of the week to Dr. Emily Ferraro and Dr. Samantha Hanciles, who did a great job of managing an interesting and complex Ward census. They are the only Pediatric Residents on service and are coaching up our new Anesthesia Interns. Way to set an example.
Additional play of the week to MS4 Andy Greenhalgh, who delivered an excellent morning report case on the differential and workup of Adolescent Acute Psychosis. Multiple staff members said it was one of the best medical student presentations they have ever seen. Great work!
Congratulations to Dr. Kayla Sallander and her husband Cam on their wedding this weekend! I hope you get some time to relax. Very happy for you both.
Big weekend for the Hepps/Manison Family, Maryn Manison had her Bat Mitzvah yesterday and I heard did a great job! Congratulations to her, and we hope our PD can get some well deserved rest and relaxation!
Ms. Denisha Herndon, will be our new Program Coordinator, and is starting March 11th! Ms. Herndon comes to us with over a decade of experience as a Program Specialist at the Washington DC VA and as an MSA at Malcolm Grow. While military GME will be a new area for her, she is enthusiastic about meeting all of you and contributing to our residency team.

Leave:
Please complete and sign the attached checklist when submitting leave.
Put Dr. Zanetti and Jack as 1st/2nd Approver, and email checklist to both.
For the checklist - When out of training these are items that will result in leave not being approved. I will NOT be rejecting leave, but if there are things overdue we need a plan to get updated. If you have a lot of overdue items and you are doing OCONUS or leave requiring commanders signature this could cause issues, but we’ll address that if it comes up.
Here’s how you should answer Checklist:
1 – in JKO ensure that your annual cyberawareness, Hippa, level 1 antiterrorism training are done
2- Check your IMR and ensure all green https://asimsimr.health.mil/imr/myIMR.aspx if not use comment box to write what is not up to date and plan
3 – TR closeouts are end of the academic year 30June
4 – N/A
5 – check myfss for next PT Test date https://myfss.us.af.mil/USAFCommunity/s/usaf-fitness-management
6 – this is your birth month
