Pediatric Obesity Curriculum

  • Healthy Habits Pediatric Obesity Curriculum and Toolkit - New Educational Curriculum to Improve Provider's Confidence and Knowledge in the Care of Childhood Obesity. This is a great resource that is being rolled out, and will be a longitudinal study throughout this academic year.

  • Pre-Survey: Please complete this 20-30 minute survey in anticipation of self-directed learning curriculum to be released on July 15th.

  • 30AUG - Obesity Curriculum Academic Half Day and follow up survey

Peds Sedation Unit Reminder


Healthy Habits Clinic

  • Healthy Habits Clinic - Virtual Clinic for patients ages 6-18 with Stage 1 obesity (BMI > 85th%)

  • Meets twice monthly (2nd and 4th Wednesday of month) for 90 minute sessions starting at 1515.

  • Virtual Group Exercises and Nutrition/Dietary Guidance

  • To Refer: Please message Ms. Ramona Sanchez Brady through Genesis. Then use dot phrase ..HH

Peds Travel Clinic

  • Referrals are no longer required for Peds ID Travel Clinic. Patients can call the Pediatric Subspecialty number to schedule.

PCS Locations

  • South Korea/Japan - No Travel Clinic needed, PCM should order JEV for all, MMR and HepA ages 6-11mo

  • Canada/Western Europe/Australia/US Territories - No Travel Clinic needed

  • Latin America/Caribbean/Middle East/Africa/Oceania (excluding Australia)/Asia (excluding Japan) - Travel Clinic IS needed

Note that patients should be seen at least 2 weeks prior to departure (ideally 4-6 weeks) but also NO earlier than 2 months prior to departure.

    • 30Aug2023 1300-1700*

  • Designed to mimic a clinic half day, each faculty member will be in an MDL room with your particular case. The students have 30 minutes with you to go through the case/skills. The students will move. You stay put and will deliver the same content 5 times to groups of 9-10 students.

American Academy of Pediatrics

  • AAP Memberships for 2023-2024 Academic Year have been activated. Please see the below links for resources available through the AAP and activating Pedialink. Everyone should have access to PREP questions through their membership.




ARMY NEW!

  • SHARP Training July 7th will be held in Building 5, 3rd Floor Room 3008. Starting promptly at 0900. Please come in professional civilian attire (jeans acceptable-no holes).

  • Current leave process

    • Please use IPPS-A for all leave/absence requests; go to https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil/identitymanagement/app/login and login with your CAC

    • Make sure you change your email in order to receive email notifications -> My Profile -> My Current Profile -> down arrow next to name -> Personal Details -> Contact Details

    • Submit leave

      • Continue to submit DA31s to your Academic Advisor for signature

      • Once your DA31 is reviewed and signed, follow these instructions:

      • Click My Absences in the home page

      • Complete the appropriate information, an example of chargeable leave is below:

      • Absence Type: 1-Chargeable Absence

      • Absence Name: Absence

      • Absence Reason: 01- Annual (Ordinary) Absence and complete the remainder of the page

      • Enter Start and End Dates

      • For supervisor ID: direct it to 1SG Michael Leinweber

      • Complete address information with the location of where you are going

      • Attach your DA31 with my signature at the bottom

      • Click submit

    • Make sure you continue to send leave dates and locations to the Peds Leave Listserv: dha.bethesda.j-11.mbx.pediatric-alpha-co-leave@health.mil
