  • AAP Accounts: AAP accounts for AY24-25 are now active! This means you can access your Pedialink questions! Please see the below PDFs for descriptions of AAP membership benefits and instructions for accessing Pedialink.

  • PGY-3s Only: Your MedStudy accounts are active! You should have received an email letting you know how to activate (if not, email Ms. Herndon and cc me). Please be aware your access is for 12 months, so most residents choose to activate in September/October.

Clerkship Round Robin (recurring throughout the year)

  • Tentative Dates and Times: TBA

  • Designed to mimic a clinic half day, each faculty member will be in an MDL room with your particular case. The students have 30 minutes with you to go through the case/skills. The students will move. You stay put and will deliver the same content 5 times to groups of 9-10 students.

ATTN Army PGY-1s: MAJ Saira Ahmed will be covering down as PGY-1 Advisor during the absence of LTC Williams. Please direct all leave requests in IPPS-A to MAJ Ahmed.


Army Leave

  • Current leave process

    • Please send email to Emily and Military Advisor notifying of specific leave requests

    • Please use IPPS-A for all leave/absence requests; go to https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil/identitymanagement/app/login and login with your CAC

    • Make sure you change your email in order to receive email notifications -> My Profile -> My Current Profile -> down arrow next to name -> Personal Details -> Contact Details

    • Submit leave

      • Submit Leave to your specific Military Advisor

      • Click My Absences in the home page

      • Complete the appropriate information, an example of chargeable leave is below:

      • Absence Type: 1-Chargeable Absence

      • Absence Name: Absence

      • Absence Reason: 01- Annual (Ordinary) Absence and complete the remainder of the page

      • Enter Start and End Dates

      • For supervisor ID: direct it to your ARMY ADVISOR

      • Complete address information with the location of where you are going

      • Click submit

Leave:

  • Please complete and sign the attached checklist when submitting leave.

  • Put Dr. Zanetti as 1st Approver, and email checklist to both.

  • For the checklist - When out of training these are items that will result in leave not being approved. I will NOT be rejecting leave, but if there are things overdue we need a plan to get updated. If you have a lot of overdue items and you are doing OCONUS or leave requiring commanders signature this could cause issues, but we’ll address that if it comes up.

  • Here’s how you should answer Checklist:

1 – in JKO ensure that your annual cyberawareness, Hippa, level 1 antiterrorism training are done

2- Check your IMR and ensure all green https://asimsimr.health.mil/imr/myIMR.aspx if not use comment box to write what is not up to date and plan

3 – TR closeouts are end of the academic year 30June

4 – N/A

5 – check myfss for next PT Test date https://myfss.us.af.mil/USAFCommunity/s/usaf-fitness-management

6 – this is your birth month

7 – N/A

Plays of the Week:


Play of the Week: Bravo to Dr Amy Davis and Dr McKenzie Bowling who did an amazing job with a family during a prolonged ER stay prior to admission, preventing the family from leaving AMA when their infant needed admission. They navigated tough conversations of a potential NAT evaluation and maintaining a positive therapeutic relationship.


Babies of the Week: Congratulations to our newest members of the NCC Peds Family: Kate McCoy Casey (Dr. Anna Casey), Baby Nolan (Dr. Hopkins) and Ella Jacqueline (Dr. Rowe). We can't wait to meet you!


Chief of the Year: Thank you to Dr. Jack Goetzman for being a fantastic chief, mentor, physician and leader for the past year! We are beyond grateful for your committment and dedication to NCC Peds. You will be missed!
