Play of the week to Dr. Kayla Dahlquist, Dr. Taylor Meyers, Dr. Schacht, and Ms. Rebecca Hicks, who were published in BMJ Case Reports for their article Congenital glottic stenosis as a clinical manifestation of FREM1-associated disorders in a neonate with respiratory distress and aphonia. https://casereports.bmj.com/content/17/5/e257133


Play of the week to Dr. Friedman, who received the Values in Action Award for his dedication patient-centered care and fostering an environment of inclusivity and communication as a team leader. Well deserved!


Play of the week to Dr. Emily Ferraro and the DEI Committee for planning the 3rd Annual Religion in Medicine. It was an excellent free flowing conversation that touched on a number of important topics.


Congratulations to Dr. Larson for her promotion to Colonel, as well as Dr. Hill for his promotion to Lt Colonel!

24hr/Day MWR Gym Access:

  • NSA Bethesda MWR Fitness Center is now officially open 24 hours

  • This is a phased process for 24 hour access.  Only activity duty will be able to access the gym after normal gym staff hours.  Once bar scan readers are obtained and installed, expanded access to civil service employees, dependents, and retirees will begin. 

  • To access the gym after normal staff operating hours, personnel must register their CAC at the MWR Fitness Center’s (bldg. 17) front desk between the hours of 0430 to 2000 Monday through Friday and 0800 to 1400 on Saturdays.   Activation of CAC my take up to 48 hours.

Twilight Tattoo: Wednesdays May through July

  • The U.S. Army Military District of Washington’s Twilight Tattoo, a live, action-packed military experience that takes place at Summerall Field on Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall on select Wednesdays at 7 p.m. from May through July.

  • Twilight Tattoo features dramatic vignettes, musical performances, and ceremonial demonstrations by members of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) and The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.” 

  • Each show also includes a pre-show concert at 6:30 p.m.

  • Review "Faculty Appointments at USUHS" Section: - Plan to submit your CV, USU Form 107, USUHS Faculty Form, and Letter of Support (includes Command Endorsement) before the end of June
