Plan of the Week: November 19th - November 25th

Plays of the Week:

Play of the week to Dr. Maggie Hasler and her PICU team for her work in the CNMC PICU. Her response to a code helped to save a patient's life. One of the NPs reached out to say: "The kid is now in CICU with a promising neuro exam thanks to their good work. I know many residents dread the PICU rotation, but these ladies were the best. I’d be their “wingman” any day."

Play of the week goes to Dr. Anna Casey for her excellent care of a challenging patient in PCMH Clinic. This patient required expedited subspecialty evaluation, and she was able to help this family navigate the system and maintain a great therapeutic relationship. A big thank you to Dr. Hughes, who was able to help coordinate and get this patient seen quickly.

Additional play of the week to our NICU Fellows, Dr. Sidney Zven and Dr. Brian Graziose, as well Dr. Smith, Dr. Hisle-Gorman, and Dr. Chokski for their publication in Military Medicine "Evaluating WIC Engagement and Food Insecurity Among Active Duty Military Families". This is a great project that members on the program have been working on for a number of years, and helps to show how as physicians and military officers we can really make an impact on our patient's lives. Great work!

Shout out to Dr. Renuka Rees, who was acknowledged for her and the Sustainability Teams' efforts here at Walter Reed. Please take the time to read the article here, which shares Dr. Rees' vision and the steps being taken to create a culture/policies that use products and energy in a way that does not harm the environment.
