CODE GREEN/MASCAL Event

  • Emergency Management briefed the plan for the upcoming MASCAL event on Thursday, 3NOV

  • Anticipated duration is 2 hours; will include approximately 400 personnel

    • PRIME CLINIC:

      • 1. All personnel muster in your waiting area

      • 2. Senior Officer present sends 2 staff/attending providers, 1 RN and 1 HM/medic to the Radiology Lobby

      • 3. Arrange for coverage for remaining patients

    • SUBS CLINIC:

      • 1. All personnel muster in your waiting area

      • 2. Senior Officer present sends 1 staff/attending provider & 1 LPN to Surgery Clinic, and also 1 RN to Radiology Lobby

      • 3. Arrange for coverage for remaining patients

    • 3rd DECK:

      • 1. 3rd Deck Senior Resident notifies the team he/she is leaving, and reports to Radiology lobby

      • 2. Back-up coverage is called-in, if needed

Pediatrics Obesity Education Survey

15th Annual Research & Innovations Month (May)

  • 15 different competitions will be offered by the Department of Research Programs (DRP) during the month of May

  • Submission for the following awards opens 30Nov and abstract deadline is midnight 29Jan2023

  • Bailey K. Ashford Awards (2): capstone projects in laboratory or clinical research

  • Robert A. Phillips Awards (4): clinical or lab research by staff and fellows, or by residents and interns

    • Winners go on to compete with other medical centers for four awards in the 38th Annual Navy-wide Academic Research Competition (ARC)

  • Other awards are offered for case reports in categories for staff and fellows, or residents and interns. Other competitions honor projects in quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and patient- and family-centered care.

  • Further details regarding applications and how to submit will be emailed out next month
