USU Teaching Opportunities

Longitudinal Clinical Skills for MD/PhD students

  • Volunteers will help lead hour long case-based discussion to a small group of students in USU's combined MD/PhD program. These students have completed their pre-clerkship phase of medical school and are doing research for their PhD before moving on to clerkships. 

  • Upcoming sessions: Lumbar Puncture 5/8/25.  All sessions are from 0900-1000.

Community Pediatrics/Advocacy Updates:


NEW Application for AAP Advocacy Internship-Due Wednesday 4/16

  • The AAP Advocacy Internship Program is still accepting applications for one-month internships between July 1, 2025 and June 30, 2026. Please note that internships are not available for the month of August. The deadline to apply has been extended to Wednesday, April 16 at 11:59pm ET.  

  • This internship offers medical students, pediatric residents, and fellowship trainees the opportunity to work with the AAP federal and state advocacy teams. Interns will spend four weeks learning about child health policy, the legislative process, and public affairs. The internship is based in Washington, DC.
