  •  Register here to get access to the Google Classroom module: IUD Curriculum Registration Form

  • The curriculum includes four short videos (about 10–15 minutes each) that can easily be watched at double speed, plus brief pre- and post-course assessments. It provides key background on IUD counseling, insertion, removal, and follow-up to help you get the most out of the hands-on session.

What to Expect Baby Shower: Please reach out to Marian-Joy Spirnak if you're interested in helping her out setting up a booth for expectant mothers for this year's "What to expect baby shower" event on base. Will take place on09 Aug 1100-1400 at Warrior Food Court in Building 62. Reach out to her if you're interested in helping! See flyer below.

In addition, they are raffling newborn items for expectant families at this event. Please reach out to MJ if you'd like to contribute too the gift basket on behalf of the advocacy committee!


Teddy Bear Clinic: Teddy bear clinic is back! It will again take place at the National Museum of Health and Medicine with many fun activities on 13 Sep from 0930-1130. This event is always a blast. Reach out to Brandon Neal if you're interested in volunteering! They would like 10-14 volunteers from our crew (residents + med students). See flyer below.

Army Leave

  • Current leave process

    • Please send an email to your military advisor notifying of specific leave requests

    • Please use IPPS-A for all leave/absence requests; go to https://myaccess.dmdc.osd.mil/identitymanagement/app/login and login with your CAC

    • Make sure you change your email in order to receive email notifications -> My Profile -> My Current Profile -> down arrow next to name -> Personal Details -> Contact Details

    • Submit leave

      • Submit Leave to your specific Military Advisor (PGY2/3) or Dr. Vasta (PGY1)

      • Click My Absences in the home page

      • Complete the appropriate information, an example of chargeable leave is below:

      • Absence Type: 1-Chargeable Absence

      • Absence Name: Absence

      • Absence Reason: 01- Annual (Ordinary) Absence and complete the remainder of the page

      • Enter Start and End Dates

      • For supervisor ID: direct it to your ARMY ADVISOR

      • Complete address information with the location of where you are going

      • Click submit

    • See the powerpoint below for instructions

  • Please complete and sign the attached checklist when submitting leave.

  • Put Maj Jean as first approver and Lt Col Reynolds as second approver

  • For the checklist - Overdue items will need a plan for updating or else leave is at jeopardy of not being approved.

  • Here’s how you should answer Checklist:

1 – in JKO ensure that your annual cyberawareness, Hippa, level 1 antiterrorism training are done

2- Check your IMR and ensure all green https://asimsimr.health.mil/imr/myIMR.aspx  if not use comment box to write what is not up to date and plan

3 – BCA tests are due at the end of your birth month

4 – PT test due date. You can check at myfss https://myfss.us.af.mil/USAFCommunity/s/usaf-fitness-management

5 – N/A for residents

  • LCDR Sierra Howell is now deployed through August 2025. Please send leave requests to CDR Danielle Barnes. CDR Barnes will be on leave 7/21-7/30, please submit upcoming leave prior to this.

  • When submitting leave, please email CDR Barnes and cc the chief resident

  • Chief Resident will send email confirming that dates have been approved
