Plays of the Week:
A big week for the program with lots of things to celebrate and acknowledge. Keep up the great work everyone!
Play of the week goes to Dr. Robert Crutcher, who helped to coordinate the Medevac of a patient from Japan. Rob not only helped coordinate with the overseas team, but was in constant communication with the family and even personally found them a flight after theirs was cancelled. Rob really demonstrated what patient-centered care means and the impact we can have. Way to set an example and go above and beyond!
Play of the week to Dr. Rebecca Morgis, who stayed late after her MICC shift to help the NICU place lines on a sick kid with PPHN. The NICU praised not just her commitment staying late, but said she did an excellent job with the UVC and nailed it on the first try.
Additional play of the week to Dr. McKenzie Bowling, who has done both a Nexplanon placement and removal on her time on Adolescent Medicine. Way to seek out opportunities!
Another shout out to Dr. Taylor Meyers who as clinic senior helped Dr. Elizabeth Simmons coordinate getting all patients, providers, and staff out when there was an emergency early release due to weather. It was impressive seeing everyone jump into action and making sure that all patients got seen and everyone get home safe.
The ward night team, led by Dr. Amy Davis and Dr. Karina Kauffman Brown, who did an excellent job navigating a very difficult social situation while also coordinating swift escalation of care for a rapidly changing patient. All while handling two ED consults at the same time.
HN Prattis in the specialty clinic went over and beyond to help us get a patient's vitals even though he wasn't technically on the schedule and logging them into the EHR!
