USU Teaching Opportunities
Longitudinal Clinical Skills for MD/PhD students
Volunteers will help lead hour long case-based discussion to a small group of students in USU's combined MD/PhD program. These students have completed their pre-clerkship phase of medical school and are doing research for their PhD before moving on to clerkships.
Upcoming sessions: Lumbar Puncture 5/8/25. All sessions are from 0900-1000.

POET Round Robin Teaching at USU
POET week Pediatrics half day is a round robin format to orient USU medical students just prior to their pediatric clerkship rotation.

THIS WEEK Semi-Annual Height/Weight/PAI 05MAY-08MAY
Mandatory Height/Weight (HT/WT) and Personnel Asset Inventory (PAI) will be conducted from 05 MAY to 09 MAY, between 0800–1500 daily. All Soldiers must attend in person and bring the following:

Government Travel Card
If you are offsite and unable to attend during the scheduled dates, you must contact the orderly room to coordinate an alternate time.
All Soldiers are expected to be current on training and medical readiness prior to PAI. Delinquent Soldiers will be required to return and complete their requirements.

This year, we will follow the suggested AF GME template to complete the forms (see below). There is a blank form below for you to start drafting your ideas.

Please complete and sign the attached checklist when submitting leave.
Put Dr. Zanetti as 1st Approver, and email checklist to both.
For the checklist - When out of training these are items that will result in leave not being approved. I will NOT be rejecting leave, but if there are things overdue we need a plan to get updated. If you have a lot of overdue items and you are doing OCONUS or leave requiring commanders signature this could cause issues, but we’ll address that if it comes up.
Here’s how you should answer Checklist:
1 – in JKO ensure that your annual cyberawareness, Hippa, level 1 antiterrorism training are done
2- Check your IMR and ensure all green https://asimsimr.health.mil/imr/myIMR.aspx if not use comment box to write what is not up to date and plan
3 – TR closeouts are end of the academic year 30June

Play of the Week:
Play of the Week: Goes to Dr. Maddie Mascitti and Dr. Simal Ali for their work in identifying and referring a patient to GI who was ultimately able to get a speedy work-up and begin treatment for a diagnosis of Crohn's disease. Great job!
Bonus Play of the Week: Goes to all the faculty, fellows, and residents who covered inpatient units during the resident retreat AND successfully assisted with the move to MCAA South. We appreciate you all!
